Chargers Weekly Workouts at Sunnycrest Track




Tuesdays, Spring and Summer

All Chargers are invited to a weekly interval practice at Sunnycrest Track during the summer. The particular workout will vary from week to week, and requires a base mileage of 15 to 20 miles per week in order to reduce the chance of injury.

DIRECTIONS: To get to Sunnycrest Track, take 690 to the Teall Avenue exit. If you've coming from the west, take a left onto Teall and under 690. If you're coming from the east, take a right onto Teall. Regardless of the direction you've come from, you'll almost immediately cross Burnet Avenue (at the light at the bottom of the hill) and then proceed up the hill to the very next traffic light, which is at Robinson Street. Take a right onto Robinson Street, which dead-ends in the parking lots at Sunnycrest Park and Henninger H.S. Take a left into the arm of the parking lot that extends north to the tennis courts, and park near the tennis courts. The track is beyond the outfield of the baseball diamond that you see as you first enter the parking lots.

No invitation is necessary; no commitment to being a regular is expected. The practice session will be cancelled whenever there is lightning in the area. Practices start at about 5:30 PM between April through August. Current Chargers Chargers members only, please.
