A Chargers Exclusive: Annual Registration for SU Libraries’ Card is Open!
Active members of the Syracuse Chargers are eligible to register for a Syracuse University Libraries card. This exclusive offer gives cardholders access to the Stabler Running collection as well as all print (only) holdings of Syracuse University Libraries*. No other track club boasts such a fantastic benefit for its members. The registration deadline is December 31st, 2022. Don’t miss out – sign up today!
If you miss this enrollment period, the next enrollment isn’t until November/December 2023. For those who registered last year, your card remains active for as long as you remain a member of the Syracuse Chargers.
For those who may not be aware, the Syracuse Chargers Track Club is established and annually contributes to the Ed Stabler Running Collection at Syracuse University Libraries. This unique collection, established in 1997, is dedicated to Ed Stabler, SU Professor Emeritus of Electrical and Computer Engineering, an avid and accomplished runner both locally and nationally, and a lifelong advocate for running and runners of all ages. This collection is like no other. It serves as an extension of the Chargers’ mission to promote all forms of running and race walking, provide community fitness education, and, above all, inspire and support runners and race walkers in every stage of development and aspiration. It contains a rich mix of content from biographies, nutrition and cooking, therapy, training, and the sociological, cultural, and psychological aspects of the sport across all reading levels from the very young to more advanced readers. This collection is not in a browsable, fixed location; it is intermixed with the libraries’ book collections in both Bird and Carnegie Libraries. *the annual $25 fee will be waived, as long as you maintain your Syracuse Chargers membership
