Sam established a new AG record in the 8k at a Thursday night Onondaga Lake Park run. In his “younger days” he had run a faster M85 time at this distance on the track (1:08:54). Since 8k is not a standard track event, the unadorned 8k event is understood to have been run on the roads, and so constitutes a distinct event from the 8k run on a track.

Olivia, apparently a newcomer to the Chargers record book, established a new record in the 200m Intermediate Hurdles and bettered the 11.7 (1994) of Kelly Kuss in the 55m High Hurdles. She ran both events at the 2 nd Chargers all-comers meet, held at Fulton High School Track.

Terry McConnell, Ph.D.

Terry was born in Rome, NY on April 30, 1954 at around 11:30 a.m. Terry’s mother, Constance Ann Croniser McConnell, and his father, John Henry McConnell, were students at Syracuse University at the time.

He lived in Syracuse and Boonville N.Y. briefly, before moving to Rome N.Y. when he was about 3 years old. He spent the rest of his childhood in Rome and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1972.

Terry did his undergraduate work at Princeton University, graduating in 1976. He attended graduate school at Stanford University for two years and then transferred to the University of Illinois, where he received his Ph.D. in 1981. Terry spent a 3-year post-doctoral position at Cornell University, and has been at Syracuse University since 1984.

Terry is married to Patricia Ford and has a daughter, Erin.
